Deer

Deer are elegant herbivores with slender legs and impressive antlers (in males of most species). They come in a variety of sizes, from the tiny pudú, which is about the size of a large dog, to the massive moose, which can stand taller than a horse!

Deer are found all over the world, except for Australia and Antarctica. They are excellent browsers, nibbling on leaves, twigs, fruits, and nuts. Their hooves help them navigate through forests and grasslands, and their keen senses keep them alert for predators.

One interesting fact about deer is their antlers. These bony growths are shed and regrown every year by males (except for caribou where females also grow antlers). They are used for fighting for mates and establishing dominance.

Deer are important animals in many ecosystems. They play a role in seed dispersal and help to control plant populations. However, deer can also become overpopulated and damage forests and gardens.
